Volunteer At Prairie’s Edge Humane Society

We are always in need of conscientious volunteers to help us care for our animals, help us with fundraising and office work, and maintain the grounds. Volunteering starts with a volunteer orientation meeting, held twice each month. Beginning in 2010, all new volunteers must become members of Prairie’s Edge Humane Society. Membership brochures will be distributed at the orientation meeting.

No preregistration is needed-just come to the shelter for the orientation that is convenient for you. We look forward to seeing you!

Our next orientation is at the shelter on Sunday, September 19, at 1 p.m.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Dog Kennel – walking dogs, putting on Gentle Leaders, bathing dogs, helping with cleaning
  • Cat Room – moving cats to and from cages, petting and grooming cats, assisting customers, helping with cleaning
