Not every person is looking for the same dog.
Some folks want a dog who can run all day; others prefer a couch potato.
Some are starting a family; some want to providea second chance to an older dog.
To help potential adopters decide which of our dogs might fit their lifestyle, we “sort” dogs into categories.
Each dog is assessed for general attitude and energy level.
Each category is reflected in a different color cage card for easy reference.
EASY dogs have green cage cards;
ENDEARING dogs have orange cage cards;

and ENERGETIC dogs have white cage cards.

EASY DOGS (green cage cards)
EASY dogs are just that-easy. They are fairly calm and take most
things in stride. This kind of dog tends to make a good “starter”
dog for someone with limited experience. Being EASY does not
mean no training will be required, but it does mean that the dog
is sociable and kind.

ENDEARING DOGS (orange cage cards)
ENDEARING dogs are a little on the shy side.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        They don’t like too much excitement. They love affection and attention.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            This kind of dog may not have been around kids or other animals very much.
Being ENDEARING does not mean a dog won’t need some training.
But it does mean a little extra work is worth it!

ENERGETIC DOGS (white cage cards)
Guess what this means! ENERGETIC dogs love to play!
They can be rowdy and bouncy, and they can go all day.
It is important to realize that ENERGETIC dogs need more
than just physical exercise-they need mental work as well.
Plan on lots of training and teaching in addition to running around.
